This place does unbelievable cocktails and if you choose the right nights of the week they are 2 for 1!! Not worth the money! I used to come regularly before the refurb and think the prices are a disgrace! Food is poor and atmosphere is dull.. Background music, far from background. Limited menu.

Kobe, the latest bar and restaurant in the heart of Horsforth, is chic, yet relaxing; buzzing with excitement, yet subtle in glamour and mood. I live over the river and canal in Bramley and we decided to wander over the bridges to Horsforth for a leisurely Saturday lunch and stumbled across Kobe Bar. From reading the menu outside which looked delicious we ventured inside and were greeted by attentive and polite staff. Although we could easily have eaten anything on the menu - and would love to try the Kobe burger at some point - we choose two of the sharing platters to split between the three of us and shared the World platter and the Vegetable platter.

There was a wealth of variety within the platters and the two healthily fed three fairly decent appetites. The vegetable platter was a varied treat too for vegetarians without just being deep friend vegetables! Some may say the serving dishes on chopping boards and steam bamboo baskets were gimicky, but I think they added to the meal. I love the fact that Kobe try and source some of their ingredients and name their local suppliers, although this does contrast dramatically with their presumably Japanese imported Kobe beef!

Overall it was a very pleasant eating experience, we sat outside in the September sun possibly one of the only days it was available and I found the decor overall to be contemporary, but not overly pretentious. Great for a drink but food is not so great! Nice to have a fresh new place to go. It used to be Fat Francos and that was getting a bit old and tired. The bar and seating areas are lovely and wouldn t look out of place down by the Calls in Leeds. However 3 out of the 5 that ate were not pleased with their meal, and there were quite a few items that were not available - no excuses really even tho it was a Monday night.

Food served on chopping boards - gimmicky but no neeed - what s wrong with a good-old-fashioned plate!! Write a review.

Yorkshire restaurant operator opens eighth venue in Horsforth

We popped in on a Friday evening and were surprised to be nobody eating but us. Food arrived quick but with a solid poached egg, slightly underdone eggs and dry Chicken it wasn t what I expected given how great the other bars in the group are. Was a little disappointed but we ll go back and give them another try. The boy who served me was adorable and very chatty. Although the cosmo he made me had to be remade as it just tasted like orange peel, he was a gem. The food was gorgeous and the environment was really lovely!

Banyan has just rebranded itself across Leeds and sadly the food simply doesn t quite do it.

Swanky suburban bar that draws an upmarket crowd with its two-for-one drinks deals. Food is underwhelming pub grub at inflated prices, but desserts are great. Indeed, the scenes outside on a Saturday night are far more reminiscent of Call Lane at 3am than an establishment in an upmarket, middle class suburban town. Kobe is swanky, new money and packed to the roof at the weekend with manicured young professionals who have realised the myriad benefits of not living in the city centre. That said, all meals are filling and the salted caramel chocolate tart, chocolate brownie, and ice cream trio to finish is a gluttonous, plate-scraping treat.

On the bar side of things, it has to be said there is plenty to admire, with the typically well put together modern styling that is a feature of the Arc Inspirations bar brand that has eight bars in the region. The venue is split between the ground level wood-floored bar space with high-stooled seating and a low lit banquette-filled area, and a raised section that is decked out with cream and brown striped, padded leather booths that overlook the rest of the place. It does all follow the same Arc Inspirations formula that is evident at bars like The Arc and Napa, but nonetheless it is plush, open plan and easy on the eye. There are some eye-catching features here too, with a huge circular wooden shade hanging overhead, dotted with purple light shades that cover Kobe in a warm coloured glow. The bar also has a smaller menu featuring eight two-for-one cocktails , which are available as part of the offer all day from Thursday to Sunday. Kobe also stocks plenty of beers and ciders on tap, including Pilsner, Gaymers and even strawberry and lime Rekorderlig. There are dozens of bottled beers and ciders to choose from too. Other than that there is a pretty comprehensive wine list that features around 20 varieties of white, red and rose choices, with about a third of those available by the glass. We went for breakfast with some friends to the Kobe in Horsforth Leeds. The service was very good, the coffee was excellent. My friends ordered the full english and I ordered the Canadian - waffles and syrup with crispy bacon. The food arrived after a short wait and it looked and smelled very good. My waffles were over cooked and were crispy instead of soft, also there was very little in the way of maple syrup - just a thin drizzle, this made eating the waffles hard going. The bacon was nice and crispy just the way I like it.

Been here a few times, and they make simply prepared food that s always tasty. It s not expensive either given that they always seem to have a deal on when going in for lunch, so if you re in the area and want a better quality burger, then you could do much worse than popping into Kobe. The car park though is just about big enough to fit in a small unicycle. Fortunately, there s plenty of on street parking in the neighbourhood so you might need a short walk to enjoy. On the plus side, gives you time to walk off your meal before heading back to work. Came for a work lunch Had the lamb kofta wrap, which was nice, fresh tasting and really spicy! I had mine with fries but I wished I had got the sweet potato fries as my colleagues did because they looked absolutely amazing. The burgers looked good too, it was pretty quiet on a Thursday afternoon which meant you could get a good look at the place, its nicely decorated and definitely the sort of place I would go to again if I was in the area. I had a really enjoyable experience at KOBE, the food was really good and plenty of choice. The only downside is the car park - not very big. So me and my boyfriend went to Kobe at the weekend.
